This centrally located Radisson has received mixed reviews, with guests frequently praising the responsive management staff and the comfort of the renovated rooms. However, consistent reports highlight significant issues regarding noise levels, thin walls, and unresponsive housekeeping, alongside complaints about unclear pricing and lackluster amenities like the pool and in-house dining.
Was a great stay. Really appreciate the "status" they gave me, where I got access to an executive suite, where they have free hot breakfast buffet and hor'dueves at night. Staff was very attentive, and always offered to help with anything. Only issue i had was difficulty regulating the heat. The Radisson at Salt Lake is completely renovated. Bed very comfortable. My only wish is that they had a shuttle from airport to hotel. Hotel is right next to Convention Center, just walk outside and the entrance is right there. Uber cost $22.00 each way.
Hotel was nice but communication is garbage. Fees that were never mentioned during either check in or check out. Card charged for full amount despite splitting the bill. They’ll return the money to you 5-7 business days later. None of which was shared beforehand so I could make an informed decision.
This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here and for being cheaper than most hotels it’s a 5 star for me. Reading through reviews made me laugh at what people are complaining about. The first room I was put in had a broke a/c and was hot, I went downstairs and was promptly issued a new room. People complain there is no pool, doesn’t bother me I’m not swimming in a disgusting hotel pool that’s used by thousands anyways. Hotels been remodeled and was up to date and nice. Happy they have vinyl flooring, who wants old sticky smelly carpet in a hotel room? Modern paint looked great to me, and doubt it will be “outdated” in a few years lol… People complain about no breakfast, I’m good without the rubber sausage and runny eggs. If that’s your thing definitely go stay at your holiday inn lol. Didn’t try the restaurant some people complained about, there’s literally any food you could want a walk away. Was as loud as any hotel is, and actually was pleasantly quiet for my stay. I heard one door shut in the morning and that’s was it. Shower was fine, water was hot. Room and bed was comfortable. I’ll definitely be staying here again !
Parking was easy, friendly staff, cozy room, comfy bed. The bathroom door didn't close all the way but so be it. Stayed one night after a concert that was within walking distance and left the next morning. Noises seemed to travel through the building a little easily but I was exhausted and slept through whatever the people around us were doing.
My husband and I recently attended a hockey game in Salt Lake City. It had been a rough day for me, and I was concerned about parking and location. The Radisson was convenient and offered a great option for dinner. Upon arrival Lisa and Bryan made us feel like VIP's - They went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing experience! Will definitely be back!
Extremely dissatisfied with the room and the service. Light switch in bathroom was broken and remained broken for the entirety of our stay, forcing js to keep the door closed and the light on. The humidity in the room was 95% and remained that way for the entirety of our stay. After several attempts at begging the front desk to do anything to accomodsate us, they angrily offered us a free appetizer at the pretentious (and awful-tasting) restaurant they have in the lobby. On our final day, in the final hours of our stay, they offered to have us switch rooms to somewhere that wasnt a bright jungle. I refused, as it would mean missing out on the convention and events we came here in the first place to attend. At no point we're we offered anything that would make it better. I have begged, pleaded, it did not make any difference to them. It took 2 full days of us being here for any cleaner or service member to give us fresh towels, sheets, or empty the garbage. In the end, the room and our clothes stank of mildew, our towels were constantly damp, and the hotel does not care as I watched the receptionist laugh when I said the humidity was out of control. This is a failing hotel that got rid of its breakfast buffet in order to promote its awful restaurant in the lobby. They do not care about guests, and they do not care about making your stay enjoyable. They will actelively ignore you until you go away.
First time in SLC for a week long conference. Just want to warn some people before they waste money and stay here too. The walls/doors are very very thin. I can hear every step above me and can repeat every word my neighbor says on the side of the room with the connecting door. Tried to stuff some towels in gap to muffle the noise but didn’t really help. Check in was good but when I first got to the room the shampoo was half full and had hair all over it (yuck). There is no pool. No complementary water, coffee, or tea in the lobby like most hotels. The restaurant is very overpriced and is bland. I ate there twice and it sucked each time. Went out for breakfast around 9am on my last day and came back at 10am. I was completely locked out of my room, neither of my cards worked, and my DND sign was on the door. Check out is at 12pm so I asked why I was locked out and the front desk ladies did not give me an answer and just changed my cards. I’d say the only good thing about this place is the location and the view. But the Hyatt, Marriott, and Holiday Inn are just as close and my colleagues raved about their experience. So I would just go there. Good luck!
We have traveled to SLC once a year, for 30 years, to spend several days doing research at the Family History Library and after The Plaza closed this year (where we stayed during those years) we decided to try the Radission because it was the next hotel closest to the Library. I read mixed reviews before we reserved our 2 rooms but we decided to give it a go. We were in 2 rooms on the 14th floor, both obviously had be remodeled. Unfortunately the people who decorated the rooms loved the color gray and the rooms seem cold and sterile. Gray is popular now but will become dated when color trends change. More traditional colors would have been a better choice. The easy chair in the room is very shallow and it is not comfortable. The small refrigerator is basically on the floor and very difficult to use because of that. There are no drawers in the room. The choice to not use carpeting in the rooms was a bad one. The floor can be cold and it is slippery when wearing socks. As had been reviewed before, more than once, the air conditioner didn't work properly and the water pressure in the shower was poor much of the time. These problems are ongoing. The person who responds to reviews has said more than once, and over time, that the problems will be reported to "The Chief Engineer". I have to laugh at that continual response over and over. The building is 40 years old and clearly "The Chief Engineer" cannot fix the problems and they will continue in this building. Thank goodness we didn't have the lack of hot water problem that others have mentioned. My toilet broke during my stay however it was repaired immediately. The entire staff who we interacted with were excellent, too bad the building conditions aren't as well. We ate in the deserted restaurant and we did enjoy the food. Next year we will be looking for a different hotel, too many issues here.
FanX always brings traffic, crowds, and chaos, so our expectations were set low after a past not-so-great experience at this hotel. Thankfully, this stay turned out much better. When I arrived, the line was literally out the door, but I managed to get into the inner line fairly quickly. All four reservation stations were running, which kept things moving. The representative who helped me seemed a little new, but she still got me checked in efficiently and answered all my questions. The room itself was clean and free of issues. The water was hot, the service was responsive when we needed it, and the AC kept the room cool—cool enough that I slept comfortably (though my kids weren’t thrilled about my snoring). Overall: A solid stay during a very busy event. Much better than our last visit, and I’d feel comfortable booking here again for future FanX trips.
Me, my fiancé and our friend came down for FanX for the second straight year. I am trying to convince my fiancé to choose a new hotel next year. This hotel is overpriced. Lacks basic amenities that cheaper hotels offer. The pool was down last year when we came down for FanX. Well apparently it takes more than a year to renovate as it was still down. After walking around con for 3 days the hot tub would be nice. The restaurant in the lobby is overpriced trash. I will say my fiancé liked her pancakes and our friend like the waffle. The staff is nice however that doesn’t make up for the fact how much they charged us. Says it was 189 a night so math would suggest for 4 nights would be 750. They charged my fiancés card over 1000 dollars added parking, all the fees they don’t tell you about. If it were up to me we would never stay at any of your hotels. When my fiancé questioned the front desk about the charges she was brushed off and told she would receive a bill at the end of the stay.also I don’t know if it was just room 817 but the hot water needs to be adjusted it was either to cold or blazing hot and almost impossible to find a balance.
