Guests generally find this property to be clean and comfortable, with a convenient airport location and friendly staff. However, it suffers from significant operational issues, including strict check-in cutoffs that cause problems for delayed flights, a construction environment with safety hazards, and dated fixtures.
Can you sleep here? Yes. No evidence of bed bugs, no terrible smells. Of course the soap dispensers are mostly broken, curtain rod hangs down, and the reading lamps are a mess of wires. It’s clearly the management. Our flight was mega-delayed, and we got in exhausted at 4am to be informed that we had “missed the 3pm cut off to check in”. Of course it’s perplexing that an airport hotel has a cutoff at all, and there’s no warning when you book to make sure and pray your flight isn’t delayed or you’re SOL. We got to pay for another night instead of sleeping on a park bench, resolved to address it in the morning. Well, by then the cutoff time we had missed had retroactively changed to 2am and they’d spoken with the GM, who had apparently resolved that there was nothing she could do about it. So of course we will just talk to Expedia, who will issue a refund and back charge Microtel Inn and Suites, and all they will have gained is a couple of bad reviews that will very slightly offset all the obviously fake 5-star reviews they’ve been buying (seriously, read a few if you need a good chuckle). Well done Sarah, General Manager. On top of that, the shuttle back to the airport had cut off six minutes before we checked out, so we got to pay for a Lyft as well, and they were not allowed to make exceptions.
The Amazing Manager at this location rescued myself and my 5 month old grandson from the airport, as we were stranded until a flight was booked for us the next morning. I wish I could remember her name but she was so helpful and actually went out of her way to pick us up via shuttle . She made me feel welcomed and at ease. So I could finally relax . Thank you again for saving us so we could be rested for our trip back home to Montana.
We stayed here for a weekend and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were nice and clean pet friendly and has a shuttle to take you to the airport. The front desk worker Sarah was very nice. The view from our room or the airport with the mountains ?? in the background was gorgeous. There was also a complimentary breakfast well.
We booked 2 rooms. The rooms were immaculately clean, the beds was very comfortable. More so than most hotel beds I’ve slept in. It was relatively quiet give it’s proximity to the airport. Being able to access Netflix on the tv was a pleasant surprise. The gal at the front desk was a multi-tasking machine! Would definitely book here again the next time we come to SLC.
I need my stay at the establishment was top notch. Best hotel that I have ever stayed at and I travel very very often. The staff were right on point with anything and everything that I needed. The place was very cleanly and I I would recommend everyone and anyone to stay at Michael hotel. Best experience I’ve had two date and I’ve traveled to many states in many different establishments. I would highly recommend this to everyone and anyone that is staying in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan area. Alex facilitated our check-in, our checkout and everything in between and I cannot express enough how top notch and professional his deliverance was on all of his services. This was the most amazing experience I’ve had to date with anyone that anywhere that I have ever stayed in my life. 10 out of 10 recommend.
The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby area was decorated for valentines day…. And, there are major renovations happening here and it created a huge mess at the side of the hotel. Which is the entry I was closest to. The closest handicapped parking spot was being utilized as a work space, and there was a lot of broken glass on the ground adjacent to the dog walking area. Not ok.. The side door doesn’t close or open properly as well.
Great value hotel with outstanding customer service! Location is great; it's a short drive to the city, and it's located around the corner from the airport. Has all the basic amenities that you'd need, including hot breakfast, and the front desk staff/management were super-friendly and always checking in on me to see if I needed anything; Sarah and Shelly were great! They also recognized my platinum Wyndham rewards status and were able to upgrade my room to one with a refrigerator, which was very helpful.
Clean hotel currently under remodel which has some dated fixtures and wear. They issue parking passes for the duration of your stay. Breakfast included the normal spread of toast, mini muffins, waffles, etc. They also had some mildly appetizing looking biscuits and gravy available the day we stayed. Two large airport shuttle vans were available for your use with drivers on standby. Directv included.
We could slightly hear the planes above but I really enjoyed my short stay. The woman at the front desk was as sweet as she could be and super efficient. There was a worker painting the cabinets in the kitchen area when we arrived and everything was in order for breakfast. Plenty of an area to walk the dog. The room was beautiful and immaculate.
Not good experience. After speaking with 2 different people about reserving adjoining rooms, when I arrived they said they didnt have any available because of damage/cleanliness. After I pressed the issue we were put into 2 different rooms that were still not adjoining. And then we were offered 2 rooms that were adjoining in the middle of a construction area. Finally we were put back in our original rooms that were not adjoining. The owner of the hotel said there was nothing he could do because it was their policy not to guarantee adjoining rooms even though his staff had done just that. Don't bother staying here. It's an out of date mid 90's hotel at best. Stay at the La Quinta down the street which is nicer and better and doesn't have a shiester owner.
