We booked this room through a travel agency provided by our club for volleyball. I booked 2 rooms to fit our family and shortly after I received a call from Jennifer Hamelstrom asking if she could cancel those and give us a suite to fit our family. I told her that would be great so she does it and I get a confirmation email. We called the day before our stay to confirm which room we had and they confirmed it was the suite room 327. We showed up the next day around 10pm because we drove in all the way from New Mexico and I was told our room was given to someone else and none of the staff could figure out what happened and no other room to place us in except one with one bed for our family of 6. It took us until 2am to find a hotel because there were so many events happening in salt lake that weekend. We had small children with us who were exhausted and players who needed sleep before their tournament. This is the worst experience we’ve ever had at any Hilton hotel. They haven’t done anything to make this right despite several emails between myself and Jennifer who also said it was “sent to the manager”.
This place was wonderful. Very clean. Rooms are very spacious. But above all excellent customer service. Jennifer help me and our soccer team get all our rooms with an ease. It was a pleasure talking with her. Connie in the front desk was such a doll. Really recommend this place. Walking distance to stores.
Professional and friendly staff! They recognize my Hilton silver status while many of Hiltons recently didn’t. They offer me a baby crib upon request. Breakfast was average. The room was spacious and clean with a separate living room/kitchen. Big fridge is a plus. I couldn’t find an ice machine, though…
The room was nice. Kitchen with a full size fridge, 2 burners, microwave, and a coffee maker. Plenty of space. Clean for the most part. Staff was very friendly and tried to do their best. Late-night staff should be trained or have SOP (Sandard Operation Procedure) with pictures to assist with the what ifs of the day or night. Then there would be no need to call a manager in the middle of the night unless there is a real emergency. SOME OF THE CONCERNS 1) In the bathroom. The shower curtain is too short for a curved shower bar. So when you shower the floor would get soaked. You would have to face the shower head to the wall and then your shower didn't quite feel right. You can tell that this must be a problem for a while. On the outside corner of the shower you can tell where tiles were replaced but not by a professional or at least someone who knew what they were doing good. The grout was not sponges after applying so there was a lot of extra grout. 2) There was a small kitchen. The silverware was put away dirty. The first few pieces I pulled out still had food on it. So had to clean before use. (Still good practice) but doesn't look good. 3) After spending a long day out in the sun and dirt, coming back to the room and the door not opening with the room key, is a problem. Went down 4 times for them to re program the key. They came with key new card key and the master card and still didnt open. After about an hour outside the room they came up again with the door lock programmer that finally unlocked the door. * Good practice would be to put the door locks on a maintenance cycle of 9 months to a year for a battery replacement to ensure something like that doesn't happen on the regular. They did offer to put us in another room to rest and get cleaned up, but that does no good when our stuff was locked in our room with no access and it now 10:30 at night and we have an early flight. That would of been an extra stress on an already exhausting day.
Well, we came back two days later and had a little different experience. The bathtub was dirty so none of us took a shower. In the morning, we went about breakfast at 830, when I came back up at 850, our door was propped open and the cleaning crew had already moved things around, stripped the beds, and started cleaning with our stuff still in there... visible as soon as you walk into the room. She said she knocked but since we didn't answer, figured she could clean the room. Fine, except it was 850, well before check out, AND all our stuff was still in there. She stood by the door waiting for us to pack up quick so she could keep cleaning. So weird and so uncomfortable.
We always enjoy staying here every year for cheer comp. This year I was actually disappointed with this hotel. On the app I picked the room I wanted and checked in. We goto the hotel at 5pm and the app told me to goto the front desk. Come to find out our room was not cleaned and we had to have a different room. Fine whatever. The people above us were break dancing I swear at 12 am and kids running up and down the halls. But the icing on the cake was the maid walking into peoples rooms at 8:30am after only knocking once. I watched as the maid walked into the room across from us only to be yelled at by the people still in there and the door slammed in her face then she came to our room I answered it pretty fast just to have her ask are you checking out today? I feel like they should know that already and check out is not till noon. FYI. Breakfast definitely was not like last years. So we actually booked our 2nd night elsewhere and I think our time there is over.
The photos looked reasonable online but the room I had was dark and awkward. The bedroom furniture was too big and the door from the living room section into the bedroom could not even open all the way…I believe this is a fire hazard. There was an excessive scented carpet type odor throughout the hotel and in the bedroom. The location is near a busy road and there was no escaping the sound. Pass on this one of you have options. Despite the brand I would only give this 2 stars.
No TV for 4 days. No maid cleaned the room for 4 days even though I asked. I had to grab a maid in the hallway and beg her to do it. No shampoo in the bathroom, but 2 conditioners. A computer in there business center didn't work. The breakfast was about the worst of all the Hilton brands we've stayed in. The only positives worth mentioning are good location for our skiing, and the Wednesday happy hour was a nice surprise. Won't stay here again.
Not the Hilton experience I am accustomed to. More like an extended stay America. The website it deceptive regarding room sizes. The room was dated with a non locking bathroom door, slow draining shower, no room service and poor room immensities. Price was fine but I will not be back.
Very good overall. Good breakfast offerings. Only disappointment was that rooms do not have security safes.
