Guests praise the hotel's prime downtown location and many appreciate the friendly staff, though consistent issues with unreliable amenities—including safes, AC, water temperature, and germs/flies—are major concerns.
Very nice room, appreciated upgrade for titanium status. Safe in my room didn't work (was closed shut) and tv wasnt functioning (previous guest had unplugged and maintenance had to come in to fix because of how it's mounted). i was offered another room because of safe issue. accepted that...only to find safe in the second room didnt function either. the door or safe was open but it wouldnt work with a pin or credit card for the locking mechanism. Was offered another room but was there for 5 nights and disinclined to be inconvenienced with a second room change. I appreciated the offer of use of a safe behind the front desk, but that would have been too cumbersome to deal with for the amount of times I was in and out of the hotel for work. Hotel was updated and the rooms are great, but safes were not updated. They looked like they were from the 90s. Very disappointing experience. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Safes need to be upgraded. Won't return to this property because of this issue. Perfect location.
Thank you very much to everyone who took care of us during our stay. After four years, I experienced a deeply emotional reunion, lived from the purest love of a mother, a moment that will remain forever in my heart. Our stay at Marriott was a truly wonderful experience. Your warmth, respect, and dedication made this meaningful moment even more special. Every detail, every kind gesture, and every thoughtful word created an atmosphere of peace and care that allowed us to fully enjoy our time. Thank you for being part of such an important memory and for making our Marriott experience truly unforgettable. Love to Maria (lounge), Xui and Naw( housekeeping) and all front desk team. You rock!
This Marriott property doesn’t look like much on the outside, but when you step in, it looks really elegant! I attended an event here the other evening and it was a great experience! The staff here were all very welcoming and the hotel lobby and ballrooms were well-kept. The food served here, while buffet style, was still delicious and well seasoned. Great place to host an event for large parties! Parking is pretty standard, but have tighter spaces - heads up for larger vehicles if you plan to drive one there.
Overall, this was a decent hotel, but for the price, I expected more. The location is excellent and very convenient - right downtown and close to City Creek, restaurants, and shopping. The staff we interacted with were friendly and responsive, especially the front desk. That said, there were a few frustrations. The sliding glass closet doors in our room were very hard to slide and kept coming off the track. Maintenance came while we were out, but the doors were still difficult to use afterward, so we mostly left them open. There was also no complimentary water in the room - only $9 bottles. While there was water available in the lobby, it wasn’t very convenient to go downstairs every time. The bed was much firmer than I prefer. As a side sleeper, my arm kept falling asleep, so I had to sleep on my back, which wasn’t ideal. Housekeeping also came very early. One morning they knocked at 8:15 AM. Although the staff was polite, the timing meant we only had our room cleaned once during our four-night stay. We also had to unclog the shower drain ourselves on the first day due to a large amount of hair left behind. Lastly, the parking garage was $29 per night, which is already pricey, and the badge system to enter and exit often did not work. We frequently had to call for assistance just to get out of the garage, which was frustrating - especially considering how much the parking cost. Overall, the location and staff were positives, but the room issues and added inconveniences made the stay feel overpriced for what was offered.
I was honestly expecting more in staying at a Marriott. The location is great and the rooms were clean, but if you are traveling with a kid be warned that the cribs they provide are terrible and the front desk service isn’t much better. We had our 10 month old stay with us and requested a crib before we arrived at the hotel. The crib wasn’t in our room when we checked in which wasn’t a big deal but we did have to go back to the front desk to again request it. When it arrived it was a VERY flimsy pack n play with holes in the bottom and not much of a mattress. The mattress was just as thin and hard as if there wasn’t one at all. I contacted the front desk and asked if I could double up the mattresses or if there was another one I could swap it out for and they told me no that they don’t do that and all the mattresses are the same. I finally convinced them to swap out the mattress but they were right that all the mattresses were the same as the one to swap out was just as thin and had a hard board underneath that comes with the standard pack n play. So pretty much my kid would have to sleep on a board. I ended up having to stuff my coat underneath the sheet to try and make it a little more comfy and less like he was sleeping on the ground or a board itself. But even that posed issues as then the sheets didn’t fit well. In addition to that, the mattress was much smaller than the pack n play. For a Marriott you would think they would provide better mattresses for the crib and a sturdier crib. We have stayed at hotels that aren’t nearly as nice or have the reputation that Marriott does and they have had far nicer baby cribs. Ones that don’t feel like they are about to collapse in pieces and ones that have an actual mattress. If you don’t have kids or a baby who needs a crib then this hotel is fine but if you do need a crib for your baby, either bring your own go somewhere else because your won’t get a good night sleep here which as everyone knows means that you won’t get a good night sleep either.
Well placed hotel near both the convention center and the mall. This is our second year visiting and, while we enjoyed our stay, there are signs that the infrastructure is aging. The elevators have some issues that are noticeable. Our room this year needed to be switched because the AC was convinced we wanted the temperature in the mid 70s regardless of what we selected. Overall, the staff is friendly and very responsive to issues. I will keep coming back, but I do hope there are some larger maintenance windows scheduled.
Check in was great. We had 3 rooms, after we unloaded luggage into our rooms, one room wouldn't register with the key card. A visit to the check in staff was great, they said maintenance will check in a few minutes. We went to dinner, 3 hours later same problem. After a 3rd visit and 3 hours later, maintenance finally arrived. It was a dead battery and the maintenance guy was a little rude about this situation. No offers of refund or apologies for how long it was taking maintenance to replace the battery. Overall the stay was OK, very loud in the street below (we were on the 8th floor), no sleep, down a room for 3 hours after check in, bathrooms were showing mold. It is older and does show signs of age and if it hadn't been for the hiccup with maintenance we probably wouldn't have noticed other things. I would use this hotel as a last resort and stay at the Holiday Inn across the street next time. Maintenance was our concern and reason for lower review.
Honestly this Mariott quality and service has just gone down over the years. I've been coming for work at least biannually, and I get more disappointed each time. Some days I dont get hot water, some days my room is not clean (trash not even taken out), etc. When I can I go to the other Mariott, but in winter I still stay here due to distance considerations.
The service was great! Rooms are nice and tidy. My only complaint is there are not much amenities , specially inside bathroom for personal hygiene and robes were not there. The staffs were really accommodating. Would definitely visit again!
This hotel in Salt Lake City is very convenient when going to the conference center as it is right across the street. I love that the Starbucks is inside of the hotel and the lobby is very welcoming. The rooms are clean, the showers are nice. Overall quiet hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but I haven’t eaten at it yet. Distance from the airport to the hotel is about 20 to 25 minutes. Never use the valet or how to deal with parking since I got a rideshare here. Would recommend to stay here again. Only downside is there aren’t very many dining options nearby the hotel.
