The Cliff Lodge offers a stunning mountain setting with luxurious amenities like a rooftop pool, spa, and massive locker rooms, but guests frequently complain about poor management, inadequate staffing, and an outdated in-room infrastructure.
Great hotel and conference center! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The room also included a single-cup Keurig with coffee provided by the hotel. We stayed here for both a conference and a ski vacation, and the location was perfect for both. Overall, it was a very convenient and enjoyable place to stay.
BE AWARE! Stolen Skis - and no on on staff at The Cliff Lodge givesa darn. My skis were stollen from the resort, from the locker room and these morons could give two hoots. I walked into the security office. A young lady sat there, lounged back in her chair, on her cdll phone texting or something. After a minute or two of ignoring me I spoke up. She, in a frustrating tone, asked me what I needed. I explained that I put my skis in my locker the night before. When I came down in the morning they were gone. She acted like no other person, ever, has had this happen. So, 500 rooms, families, tons of people and skis and no one has ever lost or had their skis stolen? They were supposedly the lost and found. She never looked in any back room. In fact, no one did. It is insane. The ski shop sent me to the bell desk. The bell desk sent me to security. Security sent me to the bell desk. These people were useless and honestly seemed like they could care less that my $1,000 skis were missing. Lock up your skis if you go here. Although, personally, I recommend you do not stay here.
I am a huge fan of the Cliff Spa. I’ve had some great experiences there! I love the rooftop pool. In the winter, it’s so fun to sit in the hot tub and watch the skiers go down. Me and my friend group came up here to celebrate a belated Xmas here and it was so good. I also love the massages and the yoga class. They’ve done a really good job making this place beautiful. Would totally recommend going and am definitely going to be back!
In the wise words of another internet commentator "Snowbird is litty mctitties". The Cliff Lodge is an excellent place to stay during any season. I am partial to the fall colors and Oktoberfest time. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms had beautiful views. You will not regret staying here for a spa get away or participating in the local activities. Sit back, sip your favorite drink, and enjoy the colors around you.
Absolutely fantastic stay! Gorgeous hotel in the middle of the mountain. Has everything you need for your ski in-ski out vacation with concierge service.
We went for the Spa. Fairly reasonably priced given the facility and views. Nice hot tub, heated swimming pool with direct views to snowbird mountains, steam room, sauna. The food at the L2 level bar was great, we had nachos (with tuna and edamame) and the crab rangoon, taste great.
It depends on what you're looking for, but having stayed many times over the years, the experience has gone downhill and we likely won't be back. We have enjoyed the Cliff for its the proximity to Alta and the kid-friendly amenities. This trip, you had to plan to be at the outdoor shuttle stop 20-30 min early then jockey with dozens of guests to get a spot on the standing-room only shuttles that were often late. It isn't uncommon to take an hour to get back from Alta to the hotel at the end of the day given shuttle frequency and capacity. To be fair, the shuttle drivers are amazing and did their best to help everyone out, they just don't plan for enough space at peak times. Management suggested we go at a less busy time...they don't care and/or are clueless. The icing on the cake is that because it takes so long to get back to the hotel on their shuttle, plan for your kids to miss the 3-5pm hot chocolate service that repeatedly runs out at 4pm. If on the other hand, you are planning to ski/board at Snowbird or are fine with unreliable hotel amenities, then it is an ok choice.
Never seen anyone be such a total jerk as I did tonight with clearing out the outside hot tub. He came up and just started yelling at people to get out of the hot tub at 10pm. He basically instigated fights with people in every one of the three hot tubs. Appalling behavior.
The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful — such a stunning place, and Snowbird is truly breathtaking! The scenery, atmosphere, and overall vibe made for such a special trip. However, the bed in our room was super sunk in the middle, which made sleeping really uncomfortable. Definitely not what you’d expect from a place this nice. We also booked spa services, but when I decided not to get a massage, we weren’t able to get a refund or use that credit elsewhere, which was sad but we understood. Overall, a gorgeous hotel and location, but a few things could definitely be improved.
Amazing weekend staycation at the cliffs lodge! Do yourself the favor and click 9th floor rooms and then click the spa/massage package! Well worth the extra! No hassle parking, great food, gym workout was 10/10, steam room was 10/10, pool and hottub 9/10, massage 10/10. Ill be back for sure.
